At CraftQIndia, our story is one of heritage, innovation

celebrating the richness of Indian embroidery. We believe in the beauty of
craft and its responsibility to inspire and sustain. It all started in a small
studio inspired by the vision of our founder, Mini Singh, to celebrate India’s
rich artistic traditions, while incorporating a fresh, modern approach. From
then on, our journey became a canvas of creativity and commitment.

Step 1
Design
The design is carefully planned and drawn on the wooden surface, reflecting the desired pattern or motif for the bone inlay & mop inlay.
Step 2
Material Preparation
Bone, often sourced from animals like camels or cows, is cleaned, sanitized, and cut into small, delicate shapes. These pieces are usually in the form of triangles, rectangles, or other geometric shapes.
Step 3
Carving
Small cavities are carved into the wooden surface where the bone inlay will be placed. Precision is essential to ensure a snug fit for the bone pieces.
Step 4
Inlaying
The prepared bone pieces are carefully placed into the carved recesses. Artisans use adhesive, such as resin or glue, to secure the bone inlay pieces in place.
Step 5
Painting and Staining
The furniture may be painted or stained as desired, highlighting the contrast between the bone inlay and the wooden base.
Step 6
Finishing
The entire piece of furniture is sanded and polished to create a smooth, uniform surface, ensuring that the bone inlay is flush with the wooden base.
